A multimillion-pound scheme has been launched in Pembrokeshire to support the area's growing energy sector.
The science, innovation and skills minister, Lesley Griffiths, announced earlier this week (July 27th) that £2.2 million is to be invested in the area.
Pembrokeshire College is leading the scheme, offering work-based learning to NVQ level three and above, in areas such as IT, maintenance, construction and management.
Ms Griffiths commented: "Harnessing those skills needed to support the energy sector in west Wales is vital to ensure the workforce is equipped to maximise employment opportunities.
"Our management of EU funds provides the resources to achieve this ambition, securing highly skilled, quality jobs."
The announcement comes as the west coast of Wales has embarked on a renewable energy trial.
Environment minister for Wales Jane Davidson revealed that tests are to be carried out on new tidal energy technology called DeltaStream.
