Communities frequently asked questions

The Communities Stream of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme (Phase 1, Stream 1) has now closed in accordance with the announcement on 18th December 2006. We are no longer accepting any registrations for funding.

A.) Why has the Stream 1 Communities fund closed?
The Communities stream was closed as there has been significant interest for the household stream over the first six months of the programme and in response to representations from key stakeholders BERR have re-allocated Phase 1 funds to provide a further £6.2 million to support household projects. In order to facilitate this re-allocation, BERR have closed the community stream in Phase 1, along with other measures.

B.) Where else can I get funding for my project?
Applications by communities and public sector organisations can be made through Phase 2 of the Low Carbon Buildings Programme.

C.) I have received an application form, can I still apply?
All those community groups that had an application form had to submit their completed application by 11th April 2007 if they wished to be considered for funding. Submission of an application form did not guarantee funding: all applications were assessed and only those meeting the agreed criteria were offered funding. Any applications not received by 11th April 2007 will expired and were not considered.

D.) I have received a Grant Offer Letter; will I still receive my funding?
If we have issued you a Grant Offer Letter the closure of the communities stream will not affect you. Providing you satisfy all the terms and conditions of your grant as laid out in your application form and Grant Offer Letter you will be eligible to claim your grant.
